The use of lasers in various medical specialties has become quite advanced. Typically in the field of cosmetic surgery lasers are now available to effectively remove facial veins, tattoos, wrinkles, unwanted hair growth, age spots/sun spots (liver spots), moles, acne and other benign skin conditions. Typically lasers emit a wavelength of light that is selectively absorbed by pigment in the surrounding tissue or hair follicle. The absorption of this light energy then causes the removal of pigmented tissue or hair.
