Surgical hair restoration requires a considerable initial investment.
You can expect to spend $2000 to $6000 per session for transplants. Several sessions are usually required, depending on your degree of hair loss and the results you want to achieve. Your needs may be met with a few hundred grafts in a single session, or you may need thousands of grafts over several sessions.
Scalp reductions cost around $2800. Scalp flaps, tissue expansions and scalp extensions average approximately $4000.
Unless your hair loss is due to an accident or other medical trauma, hair restoration is generally considered an elective surgery. That means it’s not covered by health insurance and you will have to pay for it yourself. Consult with your surgeon to determine costs for your individual case.
